Curator's Note
** Paul Bruneau is an Ojibway native and a member of the Mattagami First Nations Reserve. During the first two years of Covid, Paul took a break from carving. He is back and carving what I believe are the most fascinating Inukshuks in the world.

Masterpiece Carving! Glorious Colour! 

From the moment that Paul first introduced me to his Inukshuks, I saw them as beings from another world.  Quite literally.

Sometimes, they appear to be slowly plodding across the earth's surface as if they are here for the first time.

Gem is a particularly spectacular Inukshuk who has arrived in time for the Holidays.

His colours are extraordinary.

Now, all of Paul's Inukshuks are coloured with stone that is fantastic.

But, Gem is dazzling!

Gem is galvanized with sizzling metallic colours.

This sculpture is ignited by the fire released from the depth of the stones.
