This is a beautifully carved green coloured dancing bear made by Mosesee Pootoogook in Cape Dorset, Nunuvut. This piece is quite large and chubby and the electric green shiny serpentine stone creates a dramatic effect that makes it very noticeable to an audience. Green carvings like this are my favourite as the veins across the stone become wonderfully extenuated from the brown colour. The movement and balance are exquisitely captivating.
