Masterpiece Sculpture! Fantastic Movement!
Pudlalik (1965) is the son of the late Axangayu Shaa.
Can you see his Dad's influence in this gregarious Dancing Walrus?
Better still, have you ever seen a Dancing Walrus?
This means the carving can balance on one foot.
It is a feat of engineering to be able to carve a piece that balances its weight on one foot or paw!
This fellow's diminutive tusks suggest he is young.
And indeed, his dancing is innocent and uninhibited. Can you feel his delight?
And even though he is somewhat portly and his body habitus makes dancing awkward, he doesn't let that stop him.
Unabashed, he kicks out his foot, throws his arms wide open and moves his body to the music.
I love this character's joie de vivre.
A cherished gift that would be an inspiration.
