Masterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!
Slender is a very special piece.
Jimmy carved her in 2009.
He kept her for himself, but recently decided to part ways with her.
Slender is so light footed, you could see her suddenly becoming airborne.
She is one of the finest examples of an Iqaluq loon that I have seen.
A museum piece, no doubt.
Inuit art enthusiasts need no introduction to Jimmy Iqaluq and his loons.
The first Inuit carving I purchased to sell was an Iqaluq loon.
I was grounded by a blizzard in Sanikiluaq.
I saw this exquisite loon carving at the hotel and asked who had carved this spectacular piece.
I was directed to Jimmy's home and well, as they say, the rest is history.
A depiction of Jimmy's loon was my logo for 14 years and I still am enthralled with every one of Jimmy's loons when I bring them into the Gallery.
Each bird is carved with love and precision.
Each bird is awe inspiring.
When you see them in person, you will understand what I mean.
Slender is a true heritage masterpiece.
Jimmy Iqaluq is one of the few Master Carvers from the pioneering generation who is still actively carving.
If you don't have one of Iqaluq's loons in your collection, then from my perspective, your collection is not complete.
