Masterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!
Lazarus is the brother of Paul Malliki.
Artistic talent abounds within the Malliki family.
Realistic style is the forte of both Paul and Lazarus.
I believe that one day Lazarus' incredible Drum Dancer and Bear will be found in a world famous art museum.
Dance Partners takes my breath away.
I love the beautiful dark stone. It has a rugged finish which is common to many of the Repulse Bay sculptures.
The piece is extraordinarily detailed. Its proportions are perfection.
The movement is exquisite
I have the feeling that the stationary bear is so moved by the the drummer's song that he is going to begin dancing at any moment.
Finally, the piece de resistance is Malliki's use of the dark matte stone which gives the sculpture panache and sophistication.
