CURATOR'S CHOICE
Ashevak Adla's Midnight Walk, is one of the nicest Walking bears that you will ever see. In my opinion, it is extremely rare to see such deep and uniform black marble freckled with medium green and gray flecks.
In my last fourteen years as a curator of Inuit art, I have had only two black Walking bears of this caliber in the gallery. For these reasons, Midnight Walk has to be a CURATOR'S CHOICE.
Masterpiece Sculpture! Museum quality Piece!
Ashevak Adla rivals Nuna Parr when it comes to Dancing and Walking bears.
Pay attention to Adla's art.
Adla carves with passion but with an approach that is perhaps a bit more unconventional.
Look at Midnight Walk.
The front of the bear is a bit more angular. then the back end. Adla transitions from a realistic hind end to a head and neck that has a more modern look.
The effect is that the bear is both traditional and modern.
Suddenly, our definition of the "perfect" bear is challenged.
Adla gently nudges the viewer to reframe their concept of the perfect Inuit bear carving.
Ashevak is one of the world's top Inuit carvers, especially for large bears.
This Adla bear will be the superstar of your collection.
