Masterpiece Sculpture!
I find carvings of young seals endearing and poignant.
Their large round eyes and cherubic faces bring to mind childlike innocence.
And when the seal is lying on an ice flow, it looks awkward and ungainly. If a predator were to approach, I wonder if the seal could move away from the danger swiftly or if it is in more danger outside of the water?
The black serpentine stone is jet black! The smooth mirror finish always the light to play on the curves of this sweet seal. Don't you love the flippers on this piece? The seal appears to be reaching out as if wanting to be picked up.
And, how can you resist those eyes....that face? Kelly's enchanting seal will steal your heart.
Do you have a carving that is broken or scratched? It can easily look like new again.
