This is a superb and striking dark green / brown dancing polar bear by master Inuit carver Johnny Manning from Cape Dorset
This perfectly proportioned bear measures 6.5" inches tall, 4.5" wide, 4" deep.
It is made out of shiny dark green stone Serpentine. Encased in this exquisite piece are glittering speckles of quartz that make it really catch the eye.
What I also like about this gorgeous bear is that it balances extremely well. Johnny Manning has an amazing eye for lines, curvatures and proportions, continuously pushing the envelope for perfection. This stunning bear is no different as every attribute about it is perfect, which makes it a true gallery / exhibition piece.

Johnny is a younger Inuit artist from Cape Dorset. He began carving at the age of 14. His father, Egeetsiaq Pitseolak, is also an established artist. Johnny learned carving by watching other carvers working. His favourite subject is bears. He is famous for his special attention to bears' facial features.
