I am always excited to see a new Running bear.

Alashua's carving is a prime example of the 90 degree Dancing or Running bear.  This is a sculpture that balances on one foot.

I don't understand why, but this style seems to be comical. The bear seems to be deliberately extending one of its back legs and extending one of its arms as if it is imitating a humorous posture.

The stone is amazing because just by chance the bear's front is a solid black and the back half of the bear is a mottled green.  Very unusual!

The highlight of this piece is certainly its explosive animation and movement.

Dancing at a 90 degree angle, this Jolly bear seems to defy gravity.

Sharky is a master of being able to carve humour and poise into his small bears.
