In my 15 years of being an Inuit art curator, I have seldom seen a four way Dancing bear. They are especially challenging to find and even more challenging to carve.
The artist who can achieve this level of carving is a Master carver.
Salamonie is such an artist.
Etulu's pure white polar bear is diving forward onto his front paws and then flipping backward onto his feet like a break dancer.
Notice the shape of his front paws. They are triangular!
This agile polar bear is sublime. His happiness is contagious.
