Can you believe that Ottokie has carved two bears in one?
This bear dances on one foot and THEN he throws himself into a deep dive, holding up his entire ample body on one arm!
How does a carver accomplish such a complicated structural piece?
Astounding!
This is a gorgeous sculpture. The stone is an exquisite green, brown and gold serpentine.
I am particularly drawn to dancing bears with extra long arms and flexed wrists like this one.
Ottokie is one of my favourite artists. His sculptures can be refreshingly unorthodox.
There is often a surprise element to his pieces. Ottokie is a trail blazer.
If you are looking for an amazing piece, you have found it.
