Peter has carved a pair of delightful Caribou and Moose.
For this particular caribou, he has selected a beautiful soft green stone. Images of the tundra spring to mind. The light colour allows the careful examination of the sculpture
by the viewer.
The antlers are the crowning glory of this sculpture. They are branching and regal but unique in that from the side view the antlers form a capital C.
The body has a primitive form and yet Peter has still been able to fashion a creature that is refined and sophisticated. Like his Moose cousin, Caribou stands on uneven ground reminiscent of the tundra.
This Caribou is a unique and mesmerizing piece of art.
Caribou would be a remarkable find for any Inuit enthusiast eager to add an exceptional sculpture to their collection.
