This is a gorgeous dark dancing bear.
Like a magic powder, the riveting dark stone has reduced the subject to a graceful, cold somnambulisme not often seen in Inuit art. The exquisite black stone, beautiful lines and subtle curvatures elevate this sculpture to euphoric levels.
The proportions and movement are immaculate. Moreover, the black stone is outrageous and striking. This is what immediately caught my attention when I saw this piece for the first time.
It's definitely a very happy bear. Will make a great center piece.
