Masterpiece Sculpture!
Kellyapik Etidloie is an artist who never fails to deliver.
This is a 2 way Dancing walrus. Not a bear. A walrus!
Can you see him standing on one hind flipper and then the other?
Kelly has taken some liberty with the size of the hind flippers. They look a little bit like scuba fins. But did you know the walrus can turn its hind flippers forward under its body on land and then crawl using all four limbs?
This is the quintessential walrus. Portly, gregarious and a gorgeous pair of ivory tusks.
I love the (camouflage) camo green serpentine stone that Kelly has used to create this gallant piece.
Want more walruses? Here are some majestic pieces. Kissed by the Sun by Pits Qimirpik, Elite Carver Jimmy Iaqluq's Walrus with Red Eyes and Pudlalik Shaa's Gregarious Young Walrus.
