This is a beautiful bird from Cape Dorset directly from Johnysa Mathewsie. What is so special about this carving is that there are two different colors in the stone. From the neck up, the stone color is a beautiful darkened serpentine stone. On the wings and torseau, the color is a beautiful traditional green. The two colors merging together really make this wonderful bird carving stand out.
