Leaf is one of three unique Joe Jaw Ashoona Walking bears.
All three bears are magnificently LARGE. Joe Jaw's bears are unusual because of their size. When we see large "statue" style Inuit carvings, they are usually commissioned works and often situated in Museums, Universities or Government Buildings.
But this is an opportunity to "think outside the box".
Leaf is a rare "Giant" Masterpiece with a prestigious Provenance.
Joe Jaw Ashoona is an internationally acclaimed Inuit carver known for his Magnificent bears.
Leaf 's two companion Bears have found their permanent home.
Benchmark Masterpiece Carving! Gentle Giant Collection!
This spectacular specimen is our last offering from Joe Jaw Ashoona’s triad of Very Large bears.
This sculpture is the perfect rendering of an Arctic bear.
Joe Jaw has an incredible talent for carving bears. In fact, I have never seen bear sculptures of this size and demeanor in my 12 years of curating Inuit art.
The polish on this carving is unequivocally perfect.
The marble is cool and velvety to the touch.
The green stone is vivid and exotic and reflects the bear's wild and aggressive warrior spirit!
The veining in the marble mimics cracks in the dry mud or the veins in a leaf. The stone reminds us that this creature is a force of nature
Because of their large size, our Giant bears have a big personality which is more magnetic and awesome than the smaller bear sculptures.
The response to our Gentle Giants has been enthusiastic. Collectors are excited to have the chance to add these magnificent large pieces to their collections. (As always, we will organize the shipping of Leaf).
You could place Leaf on a pedestal or he could simply be placed on the floor in your foyer, or any room that could accommodate this 43" sculpture. (which is a bit smaller than a 4 foot coffee table).
