This is an exceptional dancing whale made by Inuit artist A. Tikivik from Pangnirtung, Nunavut. The dark stone allow for a beautiful contrast from its background making this beautiful whale really stand out.

I also really like the minimalism aspect of this piece. Although there is much movement and liveliness, it somehow remains in touch with its natural settings in a simplistic tone in both subject and color. I admire the stones coloration and the natural look and feel of the carving.

The proportion are always something I look for in a carving. This is perfect as well in that category making it an exceptional piece. This sculpture measures 10" tall, 5" wide, 4.5" deep. This carving is new and purchased directly from the artist.
