Etidloie’s “Dog” obediently sits on the hard packed snow.
He is the lead sled dog of Joannsie’s pack.
Chosen for his intelligence, and his powerful body.
Chosen because he has the heart of an Alpha.
His Inuit master knows this dog will surrender his life if necessary for the survival of his pack. And for the loyalty to his master.
The face of “Dog” (with inlaid eyes) is iconic. This carving is the perfect canine sculpture. Strong in character. Intensely bonded to his master.
Do you have a dog lover in your life? Perhaps that dog lover is you.
This is not a common topic for Inuit carvers. Often the dog carvings are small and part of an Inuit scene.
This carving is breathtaking in its honesty. Dogs really are a man’s best friend.
