Lootie's fame reaches to a global audience. Please see his biography on wikipedia. Among his numerous merits, he was commissioned by the Canadian government to make a gateway statue for his Hamlet. His famous statue received much recognition from the CBC.

Grise Fiord is located in the high Arctic. Looty is one of two artists from this Hamlet. It is one of the most isolated communities in the world. The Inuit who were relocated here in the 1940's originally came from Inukjuak, QC. His famous statue tells a story of the migrants who were relocated here by force from the Federal Government.
