Master carver Bobby Anavilok crafts, with artistic poise, a gorgeous rendition of an Inuk and a kayak. The sense of balance, crisp lines and coloration are punctuated by the inlaid eyes. This feature lends itself to a strengthened character and a prodigious intensity.

What especially attracts me to this piece is the grey stone. The contrast between the mixed media and the stone make it really stand out. This is by far one of my favourite pieces in the gallery.

This carving comes from one of the most remote communities in the Northern hemisphere. Sculptures from here rarely ever get made.
