CURATOR'S CHOICE
Every Nuna Parr Dancing bear qualifies for CURATOR'S CHOICE.
Marching Order's leg (that is held in a greater than 90 degree position is a feat that is nearly a miracle. How does Nuna balance this very large Dancing bear on one leg with his other leg at such an extreme angle?
This feature bestows a CURATOR'S CHOICE upon this bear.
MASTERPIECE CARVING & INVESTMENT PIECE
PROVENANCE December 2021: This acrobatic Dancing bear is the carving style that has made Nuna Parr the most famous Inuit artist in the world. -
When I saw this Nuna Parr sculpture, I couldn't speak.
It took me a few moments to absorb all the different positions of this bear's arms and legs.
Nuna has placed one arm is in front of the body and the other behind. One paw is turned upward, and the other is down!
To say that Nuna has created a sculpture that defies gravity is an understatement.
Nuna is famous for his arched back dancing bears but with Marching Orders, I do believe he has reached the pinnacle of his career.
I was so close to keeping this piece for my private collection.
Over the past ten years, I have seen dozens of Nuna Parr bears, some of which have been exquisitely spectacular.
Believe me when I say .... every aspect, every detail of this carving is the essence of Nuna Parr.
The breathtaking posture.
The dignified demeanor.
The grace and athleticism of the “dance”.
The gleaming flawless stone.
Marching Orders would decidedly be the star of your collection.
