This two way bear can balance on either of its back feet. This is an engineering feat!
The apple green stone places the emphasis on the black etched lines that define the chubby toes and very serious face of this Shaa Dancing bear.
Most Dancing bears seem delighted but this one is perhaps wiser and more reserved.
I was also struck by the configuration of his shoulder and arm. The neck, shoulder and arm are carved as one spectacular sweeping piece. The upper body looks massive like a grizzly bear. Quite unusual.
These are the unexpected details that I admire from David Shaa..
This contemplative bear could use a friend. Know anyone?
