This is a flavorful and beautifully colored walking bear by a very well known artist, Ohito Ashoona from Cape Dorset, Nunavut. What attracted me right away to this piece was the beige color of the stone overlaid by a beautiful mix of green and grey waved stripes. This really makes this walking bear a unique piece and is one of my favorite bears in the collection.

Ohito Ashoona is a master carver in the Inuit art world for his dancing and walking bears. His larger bears sell thousands of dollars. He always carves them with much style and grace. The curves in this particular bear are extremely smooth and round.
