Masterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!

Jimmy Iqaluq is one of a few Inuit Master Carvers.

These artists have spent decades (sometimes over 50 years) of their lives devoted to perfecting their artistry.

In my opinion, Jimmy is the best carver of Loons in the world.

He is both an incredibly talented artist and a real gentleman.

He is the reason I became a curator of Inuit art over 17 years ago.

I was stranded by a snow storm and saw a stunning Loon carving in the hotel lobby.  I was directed to a house down the road.

Jimmy came to the door.  Neither of us spoke the other one's language.

BUT I walked away holding the most exquisite Loon carving.

Jimmy had taken a chance on this stranger in the storm and sold me one of his beloved pieces.  

Jimmy has remained my friend since that time and I am proud to include so many of his pieces in my Gallery.

This carving was the beginning of Inuitsculptures.com.

For years, I made the Loon my logo to honour Jimmy Iqaluq.

Slide is a vintage piece of Jimmy's vast array of incredible Loons.

He is a slim, smaller piece but like all Iqaluq loons, he is beautifully proportioned and adorned with all the details of a Jimmy carving.

Each Loon is with love and precision.

When you see them in person, you will understand what I mean.

If you don't have one of Iqaluq's loons in your collection, then from my perspective, your collection is not complete.
