** Johnny Manning SIGNATURE Dancing bear
Magnificent Movement! Museum quality Carving!
Johnny Manning's SIGNATURE Dancing bears are a favourite among our dedicated clients.
Indeed, Dancing bears are THE most popular Inuit sculpture.
Thundercloud is in the perfect vertical position for a traditional Dancing bear.
One of his arms is extended to the sky while the other is flexed at the elbow and is held close to his body.
He stands on his right leg and his left leg is extended backward.
This position helps the bear balance his large ample body.
It is EXTREMELY difficult for a carver to create a Dancing bear that must be balanced and not fall over!
Thundercloud's black stone is a deep ebony, flawless and has the glossiest of shines.
This traditional look is adored by many Inuit art enthusiasts.
Many of our clients love black bears more than any other colour.
